1. What time do I need to arrive at a social exchange?

2. How does the evening work, is there any structure?
Here is an outline of the evening:

3. Who should I contact to ask questions about the social exchanges?

4. Are the exchanges always on the same day?
No. We alternate the days so people who cannot make an exchange on a Monday for example, will get to go when it is on a Tuesday. We try to hold the exchanges at the beginning of the week when the bars and pubs are quieter, making it ideal for conversation exchange.- back to the top
5. How much does it cost to attend?
£10 – this includes nibbles at the start of the evening and a stand-up buffet later on. - back to the top
6. How do I register for an exchange?
Select the exchange you would like to attend on the Social Exchanges page by clicking on the particular date. This will take you to another page giving you all the exchange details and an overview of the evening. You need to fill out the form below on the same page, giving your full name, nationality, email address, telephone number (preferably mobile if possible) and any other comments you might have. This form will be sent directly to us via email. We will then send you an email with details of how to pay via PayPal (a secure online payment site).
Please note: Your place will only be confirmed if payment is made within 24 hours of you receiving our original email. After that time, we cannot guarantee there will be spaces left. - back to the top
7. How many people usually attend these events?
About 20-25 people attend with a good mix of each nationality, so lots of opportunities to practise with natives. - back to the top
8. Can I attend on my own?
Yes, of course! The majority of people usually come on their own and some come with friends. You are always made to feel welcome - we are a friendly group. - back to the top
9. What type of people usually attend?
There is not a particular type of person that attends; it varies from students and young working professionals to people in their retirement. We welcome anyone that is interested in improving their languages. - back to the top
10. Do you organise exchanges for other languages?
At the moment we organise Spanish & English and French & English social exchanges however we hope to include other languages soon. We have intermediate and advanced level exchanges on separate evenings. Go to the Social Exchanges page to view future dates for the exchanges. - back to the top
11. What if I realise I cannot make it to your event?
Once you have paid to attend an exchange, no refunds are given. However, if you contact us up to 48 hours prior to the exchange you will be able to cancel your place and use it at another exchange within 2 months. - back to the top
